Clint apologizes for not writing sooner but explains that when he sees her next to tell her about what's been happening she won't be surprised. He arrived in Des Moines that night and met up with a friend of his who is trying to decided between two men to marry. Afterwards he met up with Merle Way and "Judge" Anderson and got some of Rhea's letter's in Anderson's office. He has some big news to tell her that he's waiting to deliver in person. He writes about the emblem of the masons and his love for Rhea, how good their reunion in Davenport was, and his visit to Iowa City, where he went to the university and had a conversation with the Dean.
