Clint assures Rhea that her letters are always wanted and expresses concern over the grand image she has of him, which he feels does not reflect who he really is. He received good news from home, that he had sent enough money back to finish paying for the loans he'd taken out for school and equipment, and he is now "square with the world." He writes about many other topics, including a show they saw at the Bendorf Theater, decorations of other soldiers, his uniform, an incident at the army dental school in Langres where he was chewed out by a colonel for having a dirty uniform, and his eventual return home.
