Clint misses hearing from Rhea and he misses his old regiment as well now that he has relocated. He thinks there is a good chance that this headquarters will be broken down and shipped off by the end of the month, which he is hopeful for. He writes about his grief that since his father died, the home he will return to will not be the same home he left. He has new equipment and a roomy office where he sees people by appointment, so it's almost like civilian life. General Pershing is coming by to inspect the headquarters tomorrow, so it's sure to be a rainy day and Clint will do his best to stay out of sight. His new lodgings and landlady are very good, and he sleeps in a massive bed with draperies that he finds hard to leave in the morning. An illustration of the bed is provided. Enclosed with the letter is a pamphlet for a farewell party for Major Allen Potts.
