Clint received letters from Rhea with music enclosed, which was much appreciated and he had the chaplain play all of them. He writes about Ehrenbreitstein, and conveys the news that he has heard their division is scheduled to leave on the second week of July. He was a grouch on Sunday because his request for leave was denied and some of his friends will be leaving without him. He ran into his old friend Kinley who was his roommate during his last year at Iowa, and heard from Winifred Cooper back at Bendorf that Mildred Gilson arrived home and almost the whole town shut down to celebrate her return.
