Clint was worried that he had not heard from Rhea because of the flu, and was not surprised to have his suspicions confirmed. He heard from Boyd, who might stay in the army although the war has ended. He writes about his daily routine, which he finds incredibly dull. The Y.M.C.A. almost never has anything going on anymore so there's little to do in the down time. He writes about his living situation and the scarcity of coal.
