1873 wedding dress of Mary Green Hunt, mother of George Dixwell Burrage. Cartridge pleats around tiny waist. May have been pure white based on color photo attached to accession card, is now off-white pale cream. Minimal décor on dress with short sleeves. Pleats x 4 along edge of sleeves. Thin lace along very edge of sleeves that is stained darker grey. Large 3"x4" linen or muslin tag sew into the underside of the skirt with identifying information. Sewn on tag also indicates dress came with shoes (1979.1732), hose and materia/material. Wide rounded neckline and dipping waist. Pleated fabric at waist. Aged at 1840-45, note on dress says wedding dress is 1873 and it may have been worn multiple times, style is much earlier - ASW.
