Albert Stockwell graduated from the International YMCA Training School in 1891. He was an instructor for the YMCA from 1887 to 1894. He then went on to become the physical director of the YMCA in Peoria, Illinois from 1894 to 1895, and then the general secretary of the YMCA in Calcutta, India from 1895 to 1900. Finally, from 1919 to 1921, he served as the general manager of the Remington Typewriter Company in Calcutta, India. He passed away in 1937 due to a long term illness.
