Teenage girl's dress of light blue and cream colored plaid linen, with stand collar, sloped shoulders, and long, slightly curved sleeves; yoke top, V-shaped on front; narrow white cotton braid applied around bottom of yoke over seam; puffed lower half of bodice, gathered in under yoke and around waistband; long skirt, gathered in with tight pleats under and around waistband; 3 tucks around lower skirt; wide hem, with cream colored cotton or linen twill tape around bottom edge; upper front opening, with brass hook & eye closure on bodice and waistband; coarse cream colored linen or cotton lining on bodice. Fabric described as windowpane check cotton, and dress dated ca. 1845-50? Dated 1860s by consultant, Stella Blum.
