<mods:abstract>Beginning in 1977 through 1989, La Alianza Hispana hosted a Three Kings' Day celebration, an important religious holiday for Latinos generally observed on January 6, twelve days after Christmas. The event was administered annually by Youth Development Unit of La Alianza Hispana. The Three Kings' Day celebrations at La Alianza Hispana included a reenactment of this event, sometimes with a pageant, party, and gifts. In this photograph, the boy sits in a chair onstage and reads a book as a young girl dressed in a costume speaks to him. The audience consists of Hispanic American children and adults. Partially visible on the right are the stage props and scenery used for the reenactment the Epiphany, which includes a sheep, a dwelling, and a gift.</mods:abstract>
