Demolition of part of the former Shawmut Congregational Church for the construction of Taino Tower.
Description:
This seems to be the part of the former Shawmut Congregational Church that was demolished for the creation of Taino Tower. Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción purchased the former church building (gutted by fire in 1978), and developed a 27-unit mixed-income condominium project on the site. They called the new building Taino Tower, after the original inhabitants of Puerto Rico. The project maintained the church tower and the church's original arched doors. The condos were put on the market in 1991.
