John R. Moore
Description:
Military portrait of John Raymond Moore, Class of 1919. He enlisted in the war in September 1917 and was assigned to 21st Company, 6th Battalion, Depot Brigade. He was later promoted to sergeant and transferred to Company C, 326th Infantry, 82d Division. Sgt. Moore sailed for France in April 1918 and was killed in action in the Battle of Argonne on October 16, 1918. "J.R. Moore, '19' handwritten on front. "M.A.C. Collection" and "Library of the Massachusetts Agricultural College, Amherst, Mass." stamped on back.
