Graduating Class of 1938 seniors Mary O'Connell, Phyllis Nelson, Marian Becher and Barbara Miller wear garlands while standing in front of Memorial Hall with juniors Dorothy Nichols, Elizabeth Olson, Phyllis MacDonald and Elizabeth Clapp. Note accompanying photograph reads: "Filing in slow procession on the Memorial Building lawn, the seniors carried Japanese lanterns. The juniors carried garlands. After the seniors had sung the senior "Farewell" song in a circle, the juniors filed down and formed a circle around the seniors and sang a song to them, then placed the garlands of bridal wreaths around their necks. The seniors handed the lanterns to the juniors, then stepped back into the junior circle and, standing together, the combined classes sang "When Twilight Shadows Deepen".
