George Stephen Sinnicks (Class of 1942) plays cards with an unseen opponent while sitting on the edge of a dorm bed. He married Eleanor Macomber on April 19, 1942 and three weeks later left to serve in the Pacific theater with the United States Marines. After the war they moved to Charlotte, NC where he ran the Superior Block Company until he retired in 1981. He and his wife also traveled extensively around the world, working on assignment for the International Executive Service Corps. He passed away in March 2003 at the age of 86. Photo provided by Joseph Bornstein (Class of 1944), who left the University briefly to fight in the war then returned to graduate in 1947.
