Originally from Hyderabad, India, James Arthur Rath (1871 - May 12, 1929) worked for five years with the Government Revenue Service and served for six years in the army. He began his career with the YMCA first as a member in Madras, India, where he spent twelve years. For six months after that, he took the position of Assistant Secretary to the YMCA in Bombay, before resigning to attend the YMCA Training School (now known as Springfield College). During one summer there, he served as Assistant Secretary at the Albany YMCA in New York. Rath had worked for 5 years with the government revenue service and for 6 years he served in the army. Born in Paris, France, Charles Louis Bonnamaux (1878 - ?) spent the first half of his life there, attending college, serving a year in the French army, and working for five years as a shipping and invoice clerk in a leather goods and wholesale exportation company. He then served as the Assistant Physical Directory at the Paris Association Gymnasium. After working there for a year, Bonnamaux was promoted to the role of Physical Director. Eventually he stepped down in order to attend the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he graduated in 1904. At the time of graduation, his plans were to return to the position of Physical Director at the Paris YMCA.
