Jonathan Judd Jr. was a merchant living in Southampton, Massachusetts. Judd's diaries include detailed descriptions of the events of Shays' Rebellion, his reactions to the Battles of Lexington and Concord, and other significant moments in the Revolutionary War and early republic.
The collection consists of five 6 3/4” x 4 1/4” diaries. The Rev. Jonathan Judd diary runs from 1742-1801. The Jonathan Judd Jr. diaries are dated: (v.1) 1768-1773, (v.2) 1773-1782, (v.3) 1782-1795, (v.4) 1795-1803.
