The National Archives at Boston provides access to and preserves the permanently valuable historical records of Federal agencies based in the New England states. Among our holdings are photographs from the Office of Civil and Defense Mobilization, Region 1, which existed from 1958 to 1961. These images mostly cover civil defense activities in New England, but also include Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and Puerto Rico.
