Elegant stone and fire proof Brookline Savings Bank located on Washington Street and Godwin Place opened November 30, 1898. The selection and purchase of the site and creation of this first separate home office at 366 Washington Street had received a great deal of previous attention. The David H. Daniels lot was purchased in 1897, the architect, F. Joseph Untersee, submitted plans in early 1898.
