The business began in 1860 as Clark & Barker. At the time of this photo
the company manufactured the "Home" sewing machine. The company name
was changed in 1882 to the New Home Sewing Machine Company. The new
officers were President, John W. Wheeler; Vice President, Andrew J. Clark;
Secretary and Treasurer, William L. Grout (former superintendent).
