Description

A hand-drawn design by W. Joseph Carr of a Corner Cabinet, most likely for the Heywood-Wakefield Company. The drawing shows the forward view of a corner cabinet that was 40" wide and 74" high with an open middle shelf. The drawing is labeled "3 revised" and is stamped with a Joseph Carr Designer stamp. Joseph Carr was a noted furniture designer, artist, cartoonist and sculptor from Gardner, Massachusetts. He worked for the Heywood-Wakefield Company as a furniture designer from 1936 till the company closed its doors in 1979. He also did freelance furniture designs for a variety of furniture companies including S. Bent & Brothers, Inc.
