The text on the stone monument reads "Historical Linn Village 1639 Original town of Redding 1644 South Reading 1812 Wakefield 1868 Height above sea level 120 feet This stone is placed here by one hundred of the townspeople A.D. 1909." Card is undated but bears a postmark of 1914.
