Description
Hopkinton's Grand Army of the Republic member Samuel E. Buckman. It was a national Civil war veteran's organization and this post was named for Charles C. Phillips of Hopkinton. This was one of 35 images framed together and displayed in The Hopkinton Public Library. Post 14 formed a charter in 1882 and functioned till about 1929. The type written label indicates that Buckman served in The Civil War as a member of CO. K. 19th, Maine Infantry. Note early G.A.R. membership badge with eagle, American flag ribbon and G.A.R. 5 pointed star.
