Men around desk

Description

Posed photo
Black and white photograph of office at Boston Mat Leather Company, Peabody, Massachusetts, 1918. Three men are in office, two at desks that face each other and one stands to show something to the man on the left. The man standing is identified as Saul Cohen. He wears working clothes and is handing a piece of paper to the man at the left desk, identified as Bill Johnston. Cohen wears glasses and also has a pencil stuck behind his ear. Behind Cohen on the wall is what appears to be a pin-up of a woman. Bill Johnston, at the left desk wears a three piece suit, striped socks and boots that tie. Before him on the desk is an opened magazine or book. On his desk is a telephone from which the wire crosses both desks to the wall under the calendar which is opened to Monday October 7. At the right desk, is Morris Cohen writing with a pencil. He also wears a three piece suit. The Saul Cohen identified in the picture seems to be Solomon Cohen, listed as the manager at 31 Wallis St. - the tannery - and boarding in Lynn.
