View of the Swampscott American Legion building from the opposite side of the street. The building was undergoing renovation at the time of this photograph and the men and boys doing the work stand in front of the building holding shovels and brooms. They also appear in most of the buildings and on the roof.;The Swampscott American Legion was located at 380 Humphrey Street in 1922. This building had formerly housed S.J. Pettingell's Grocery Store. As of 2008, the American Legion Post 57 (Leon E.
