Description

Grist Mill at Galen Street Dam, 1634 -- 1898. opposite Spring Street, the site now included in the Delta in Watertown Square. Photo clipping in G.F. Robinson's Scrapbook and "Great Little Watertown". The Grist mill was owned by William H. Perkins. Store next door has sign: Arthur Laing, Apothecary, Main near Spring Street. Arthur Laing also sold cigars and tobacco, fancy goods and patent medicines. He purchased the apothecary from George A. Taylor by 1897. He removed to East Boston in 1901 but moved back by 1905. He moved to Springfield Mass. by 1914.
