St. James Armenian Church. Established as an organization in 1900, the St. James Armenian Church (Eastern Diocese) went through many years of fundraising until finally building their existing structure in 1937. In 1927, the property was purchased for $5,880 and ground breaking occurred on August 29, 1931. The church also houses a youth center, a monument to the Armenian Genocide of 1915, as well as many other facilities on its small campus. The church on Mt. Auburn St. holds services in English and Armenian. The church has a variety of programs for youth and adults including choirs, Bible study and Armenian lessons.
