Description

A photograph of Dr. Robert H. Goddard's assistant, Henry Sachs, lighting Goddard's first successful liquid-fueled rocket. The launch took place in Auburn, Massachusetts on March 16, 1926 and the rocket reached a height of 41 feet and a distance of 184 feet in 2.5 seconds.
