Inside the “boiler room” at the Chicopee plant, generators supplied heat which was necessary to cure rubber in an unfinished tire. The markings on the generator indicate that it was manufactured by the Farrel Foundry and Machinery Company in Ansonia, Connecticut. Since 1850, this company supplied processing equipment for the rubber industry in the United States.
