Description

Woman workers roll wallpaper onto reels at the Allen-Higgins wallpaper factory in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1902. Notice how there are two women at each station; one women doubles the cut end of the paper and cuts it and the other watches for the measurement mark on the margin and severs the wallpaper at the proper length. Started in 1898 the Allen-Higgins Wall Paper Company was the second wallpaper manufacturing firm to exist in New England and specialized in the manufacture of medium to high-grade wall paper.
