View towards East Main Street taken from the hill behind
the District Eight School and the Odd Fellows Hall and the adjacent
Holmes farm property. Across East Main Street from the District Eight
School are the High School, the Hyde property, the rectory of St. Anthony's
Church and the church. The priest at the time was Father Patrick
O'Reilly. The rectory was relocated during the construction of the Wachusett
Reservoir to 29 Central Street. The Fraternity of Odd Fellows Hall was
relocated to 7 Newton Street. Circa 1895-1905.
