Thereafter he had offices at 1456 Main St., from 1905 to approximately 1931. Monroe received his degree from the Chicago Ophthalmic College. There is a bifold screen and a chair, with a small examination area to the right of the image. The room appears to have gas lighting with two glass light shades, hanging from a tin type ceiling surrounded by molding. The room has three windows, one a bay type, on view with blinds. The business name 'Chas. E. Monroe Ophthalmic Optician' reflected in reverse. In the office section of the room, there are several photographs on the wall.
