Description
The Girls Club, one of the floats participating in the parade in Southbridge celebrating the centennial anniversary of the incorporation of Southbridge - July 2, 3 and 4, 1916. Horse-drawn float, with greenery decorating the wooden structure. One of the two men on the float is holding the reins to the horses. Eight ladies are on view, most of whom have umbrellas to shade them from the sun. A few men with hats and suits are standing looking on at the float, at street level, in front of a house. A sign for the Girls Club is proudly displayed on the float. Mr. Michael P. O'Shaughnessy is in charge of the parade, according to the centennial program. Massachusetts Governor McCall attended the celebrations on Tuesday, July 4th and was scheduled to speak at 1 p.m.
