Description
Victorian Southbridge resplendent with buntings, banner and flags celebrating the town's Centenary Anniversary, 1916. The view features the Edwards Block (c. 1850s)from Elm Street corner to Memorial Hall (1882); at the corner of Chapin Street, on the south side of Main Street. Banner across Main Street reads "Southbridge Centennial Celebration July 2-3-4" (1916). Early vintage car, as well as a horse and carriage, are standing on the unpaved street. There is a man precariously hanging over the peak of the Edwards Block hanging the banners, one of which is a large picture of George Washington.
