Description
Emory Washburn Gill was born on 1835-07-05. He married Abby Woodward Mirick on 1861-04-24 and lived in a house on Mirick Road built by J. Mirick in 1830. During the Civil War, at age 27, he mustered as a Private in the 36th Regiment Infantry Company C on 1862-08-07. After his 3 years of service expired, he was discharged on 1865-06-16. He served Princeton as Assessor (1876, 1881, 1883), Constable (1875, 1890, 1891, 1892) and was Commander of the John D. Mirick Post No. 99 G.A.R. when the post surrendered its charter in 1874.
