Old mill yard and cabinet shop

A team of oxen can be seen on the left while logs floating down the river are pulled up the ramp to the building on the right.The cabinet shop was destroyed by fire on March 26, 1879.

At the time of this photo the company manufactured the"Home"sewing machine. The company name was changed in 1882 to the New Home Sewing Machine Company. The newofficers were President, John W. Wheeler; Vice President, Andrew J. Clark; Secretary and Treasurer, William L. Grout (former superintendent).
