The University harriers, who last year won three championships, were not as strong as in former years. Dempsey of Maine finished the muddy course in 29m. 23 1-5s. The race was replete With heartbreaking finishes between the goal posts on the football gridiron. Gregory of Bates was the first to enter the field, closely followed by Dempsey, who beat the garnetleader by five yards in a sprint down the field.
